"The key principles of zoos should be conservation, education and recreation - animal welfare must be central, and whatever you do has to have the welfare of animals at heart.”

Bernard Harrison was the man behind the success of the internationally respected Singapore Zoological Gardens (SZG) and the Night Safari. Joining SZG as Curator of Zoology in 1973, Bernard swiftly rose through the ranks until he took on Chief Executive Officer duties at Wildlife Reserves Singapore (now Mandai Wildlife Reserve).

Bernard has gained global recognition for his contributions in evolving wildlife attractions into institutes of conservation and education that bring people closer to animals. A recipient of the American Creativity Association’s Champion of Creativity Award in 2008 and the IAAPA Hall of Fame in 2018, Bernard was Vice President  of WAZA (World Association of Zoos and Aquariums), a global alliance of regional associations, national federations, zoos and aquariums dedicated to the care and conservation of animals and their habitats. He was also the President of the Southeast Asian Zoos Association (SEAZA).

Today, Bernard taps on his extensive experience, network of colleagues and natural skill as a leader to consult on projects and bring together specific concept development and design teams tailored for each individual project.
